Outcall settles one question before any other: who crosses the city. Here it is always her. You give the address you are already at, you stay in the room you already have a key to, and the only door you open that evening is your own.

There is no address to come to

Twenty-three therapists work from this roster and no premises are kept anywhere. There is no studio, no flat held for the purpose, no reception to walk into and no one to walk past. For a guest who came here to spend less of the day being looked at, that absence is the whole appeal rather than a limitation. A journey out, a wrong street, a buzzer with no name on it and a walk back afterwards are all removed at once.

What it asks of you

Very little, and all of it can be typed in a minute. A street address with a floor and a room or apartment number. A phone left where you will see it light up, because an unanswered message is the one thing that can unpick an otherwise settled hour. A line about the entrance if the street door locks after a certain time. Nothing else is needed, and nothing about your reasons for booking is asked for at any point. Where the journey reaches

Central Amsterdam runs on one figure, described under arrival window. Schiphol and the hotels beside it sit outside that figure and are arranged on their own terms, with the length of the trip talked through and agreed with you before an hour is held. Nothing beyond the city and those airport hotels is reached. The fee does not move because of the distance travelled inside the ring, and the figures in every profile are the same figures at nine in the evening as at two in the afternoon.
